Daily musings on the world of animals in zoos, in shelters, food animals, domestic pets and the ever more intrusive antics of animal rights activists in our daily lives.
an animal life
I have a passionate interest in animals and spend most of my days (and nights) surrounded by them.
I have worked in the livestock industry for most of the last 40 years. Mostly with pigs, but I have also worked with laying hens, broilers and turkeys, both intensive and free range. I have worked in a small slaughterhouse and have also been on the killing floor of Malton Bacon Factory, one of the largest meat processing plants in the UK.
I attended both Hampden Hall, and Bishop Burton colleges of agriculture in the UK, gaining a Diploma in Agricultural Business Studies and an HNC in Pig Business Management.
I live with my pets, which include several dogs, chickens and a cow.
